Pitch-A-Pumpkin: St. Louis Park Offering Pumpkin Recycling Service

On Friday, Halloween will be over and the light will be gone from your Jack-O-Lantern's eyes and you'll have to admit that he's starting to crumble and stink.

St. Louis Park is offering residents an alternative to tossing Jack in the garbage bin.

A free pumpkin recycling service this weekend gives your pumpkin a new life—or, at least, a more green death—as compost fodder or food for farm animals.

The "Pitch-A-Pumpkin" service runs from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday through Sunday in Wolfe Park, next to the Rec Center.
