St. Louis Park Target Cashier Arrested for Gift Card Fraud

The Target employee would ring up fake gift cards on customers' transactions.

A cashier at the St. Louis Park Target was arrested for a gift card fraud scheme in which she kept the $5 credits earned by customers.

The employee was caught on Nov. 1 by the store’s asset protection manager.

Surveillance video showed her ringing up a customer’s purchase and pocketing the gift card. She later spent the gift card on herself.

The asset protection manager found six other transactions where she had added a $5 gift card purchase to customers’ transactions and then added a fake $5 “coupon” to cover up the purchase.

The store was defrauded of at least $35.
