St. Louis Park Crash Survivors Improve Slowly

The children are in stable but serious condition.

The children who survived a crash into a St. Louis Park pond continue to make incremental progress, the Pioneer Press reported Monday.

The lawyer and family friend of driver Marion Guerrido said Guerrido’s children—1-year-old Aliyana Rennie and 5-year-old Amani Coleman-Guerrido—can squeeze a finger and move a limb when prompted. They’re in stable but serious condition.

The third surviving child—6-year-old Zarihana Rennie, the daughter of Guerrido's boyfriend, Julius Rennie —is also showing improved responsiveness.

Guerrido drove a car carrying five children into a pond early Thursday morning near the area of Highway 7 and northbound Highway 100.

Zenavia C. Rennie, 5, who was also Rennie’s daughter, died in the crash—as did Guerrido’s son, 7-year-old Alarious Coleman-Guerrido.

Guerrido did not have a valid driver's license at the time of the crash, according to the state patrol. She did have a driver's permit, but that was invalid since she was not accompanied by a licensed driver.

The investigation is ongoing. No charges have been filed.
