Husband, Wife Maced by Headlamp-Clad Stranger in Front of Lake Street Business

The assailant was apparently incited to mace the couple when the husband asked him not to shine his headlamp at his eyes.

A husband and wife were maced by a stranger wearing a headlamp on his hat after they asked him why he was snooping around their small business.

Shortly before 9 p.m. on Aug. 10, the couple came home to their house on the 5600 block of Lake Street. Their son told them that someone was looking around their business, across the street, and the couple went out to investigate.

They found a man standing outside their business. The wife described him as a white male, wearing a green t-shirt and khaki shorts, with a headlamp fashioned to the front of his hat, near the forehead.

When the man saw the couple, he got onto his bike.

The husband told the man not to flash the light from his headlamp into his eyes, at which point the stranger sprayed the couple in the eyes with mace and headed northeast toward Minnetonka Boulevard on the bike.
