Local Business to Reopen After Burning Down

Yes Mart on Minnetonka Boulevard was heavily damaged by a fire in March.

Seven months after a fire ravaged his business, the owner of a St. Louis Park convenience store says he expects to reopen in about two months. Taher Ibrahim said the new Yes Mart will be the same size as the old store, though he expects the layout to change a bit. Yes Mart, which is part of the Texa-Tonka Shopping Center in the 8000 block of Minnetonka Boulevard, went up in flames during the early hours of March 17 after some equipment in the store malfunctioned. The grocery store caught the worst of the damage, but several nearby store fronts were damaged as well before firefighters knocked down the flames.
