St. Louis Park Awarded Funds for Creek Project
The city and the local watershed district will be restructuring a portion of the Minnehaha Creek.
With help from a state grant, the City of St. Louis Park will be restructuring how the Minnehaha Creek flows through town, which will have as big an impact environmentally as it will aesthetically. On Wednesday, the city was named one of nearly 100 recipients of state funding through the Minnesota Clean Water Fund that will go toward various water restoration projects. That fund is one of four available through the state's Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment, which was passed in 2008. Overall, a little more than $10 million was awarded.
