Ellison Calls For Gun Law Reform In Wake Of CT Shooting

Congressman is co-sponsor to bill pushing assault weapons ban, other measures.

Decrying the Newtown, CT massacre and the large number of mass shootings in America in recent years, Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) called on his congressional colleagues to pass a package of gun control laws he had co-sponsored. “As parents, we cannot imagine the deep pain that such a tragedy leaves in its wake," read a statement jointly released by the offices of Ellison and Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-AZ) on Monday. “Such tragedies cannot be ignored or accepted as the new norm." Grijalva and Ellison co-chair the House of Representatives' Progressive Caucus. Ellison and Grijalva urged their colleagues to pass a package of gun control legislation that includes a ban on high-capacity magazines and assault weapons, like those used by Newtown shooter …

Thank you Jackie, I tried to repost, but I have so much on my computer that I couldn't right away. (multitasking) Anyway, they were attacked in China, those children - and so glad they made it. The one that he is pointing to are a series of attacks that resulted in both kids and adults in 2010. The rumor I mentioned was that it was one attack. Still not good.
