Correction 2:26 p.m. 2/21/13: This story previously incorrectly stated the St. Louis Park Police Department requested that St. Louis Park High School go into lockdown. The St. Louis Park High School was put on lockdown for an hour Thursday morning as city police combed the area looking for an armed robber. A little before 6:30 a.m., police received a report of an armed robbery near a bus stop at the corner of Minnetonka Boulevard and Hampshire Avenue. The suspect, described as a black man about 5 feet, 5 inches tall and wearing a dark-colored mask and hoodie, brandished a pistol at a pedestrian and demanded their phone and wallet. A women reported that someone took her $1,500 Louis Vuitton bag and $1,500 in cash when she was in the shoe department of Burlington Coat Factory in St. Louis Park.
A patron at the Burlington Coat Factory on Nov. 24 had what was probably one of her least enjoyable shopping experiences this holiday season when a thief relieved her of her purse. The 23-year old St. Louis Park resident told St. Louis Park police officers that she set her purse down in the "shoes" section of the store for 5 to 7 minutes. When she returned to its location, the $1,500 Louis Vuitton bag had disappeared, along with $1,500 in cash inside it. According to a report filed by SLPD officers, store security officials said their security cameras captured a young woman leaving the store with the purse. Normally, copies of footage like this are turned over to police for their investigation. However, the purse's owner also wanted to …

Ray James Brown, 24, has been indicted in federal court.
A 24-year-old man has been charged in connection to a March 15 robbery of Best Aid Pharmacy in St. Louis Park. Ray James Brown was indicted in federal court in St. Paul today. According to court documents, Brown was also involved in pharmacy robberies on Feb. 18, March 27 and April 3. In all the cases, Brown purportedly threatened employees. The 24-year-old was charged with four counts of interference with commerce by robbery, one count of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence, one count of robbery involving controlled substances and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. If convicted of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence, Brown could face life in prison without parole. On …
