Obituary: Marion S. Gold

The St. Louis Park resident died Monday at the age of 89.

St. Louis Park resident Marion S. Gold died Monday at the age of 89, according to an obituary from Hodroff-Epstein Memorial Chapel. Gold was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters. She is survived by two sisters and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. A funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Tuessay at United Hebrew Brotherhood Cemetery Chapel ( 70½ Street and Thomas Ave. S., Richfield). St. Louis Park WWII Vet Dies at 92

Kenneth Raymond Abrahamson served on a battle-damage repair ship from 1942 to 1945.

Kenneth Raymond Abrahamson, the son of a Swedish immigrants and a World War II vet, died May 8 at the age of 92, according to a Washburn-McCreavy obituary. He was raised on his parents’ farm in Silver Creek Township, Wright County, attended the one-room Enfield school and Monticello High School. After the Pearl Harbor attack, he enlisted in the Navy and served on the battle-damage repair ship USS Oceanus (ARB-2) from 1942 to 1945. After he left the Navy, he attended the University of Minnesota then transferred to the Dunwoody Institute. Following graduation, he joined the Minneapolis contractor Hauenstein & Burmeister. He married Kathryn Stover in 1946, and the couple made their home in St. Louis Park. Abrahamson was preceded in death by …

St. Louis Park resident Olga Gendelman died Wednesday at the age of 86, according to Hodroff-Epstein Memorial Chapel. Gendelman was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years. Resnick, a former nurse and administrator of the David Herman Nursing Home, is scheduled to take place at 11 a.m. Friday at Beth El Synagogue, according to an obituary from Hodroff-Epstein Memorial Chapels. The 94-year-old Resnick died peacefully Wednesday. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, husband and significant other and is survived by her son and other family members. Remembering Harland Dietrich, Who Worked at Crave in St. Louis Park

He and his grandmother, Mary Ann Haram, died after going through the ice on Lake Minnetonka Feb. 2. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Feb. 12.

Ten days after the passing of Harland Dietrich and Mary Ann Haram of Maple Grove, friends and family will hold a memorial service.  According to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner press release, Harland Dietrich, 31, of Maple Grove, and Mary Ann Haram, 87, of Maple Grove were identified as the drowning victims in the Feb. 2 Lake Minnetonka incident.  A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at the Champlin American Legion, located at 12450 Business Park Boulevard N. in Champlin.  “Grandmother and Grandson had a very unique bond and will be greatly missed by all who knew them,” according to an obituary notice on StarTribune.com.  Friends of Dietrich have taken to Facebook to share memories, memorial and benefit …

Murray Galinson was mourned Monday as a “giant of a man” at a memorial service attended by nearly 1,000 people, including San Diego Mayor Bob Filner and his predecessor Jerry Sanders as well as NBA legend Bill Walton and a “who’s who” of civic and corporate lights. One man who couldn’t attend sent a letter to Elaine Galinson, his wife of 53 years. “Please accept my sympathies,” wrote President Barack Obama in a 100-word note read aloud by George Mitrovich. “Murray’s commitment to civic engagement was well-known. And his legacy lives on through his numerous good works and unyielding faith in our democratic process.” Galinson, 75, was a St. Louis Park native. He died Jan. 3.
