Brendan Bayers returned this year for the ice cross downhill event in St. Paul.
Updated 11 p.m. Jan. 27: Brendan Bayers of St. Louis Park finished in 90th place in the Red Bull Crashed Ice World Championship this weekend in St. Paul. He finished in 85th place in 2012. You can see a picture of him from Friday's elimination round above. *** Brendan Bayers of St. Louis Park was ranked 33rd in the Red Bull Crashed Ice Shoot Out on Friday in St. Paul. His best time was 46.24. Bayers is a former St. Louis Park Orioles hockey player. He did not qualify for the Saturday final after competing in Heat 2 of the Elimination Round on Friday. Red Bull Crashed Ice is coming to St. Paul Jan. 24-26, but if you think you have what it takes to race down the most technical track in ice cross downhill history, you’ll want to be at the Xcel Center on Sunday. Athletes wishing to qualify for Red Bull Crashed Ice—Saint Paul, must battle 1-on-1 in a time trial for the opportunity to earn a spot on Team USA. The time trial is Sunday, Jan. 6 at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
