Police say Maurice Deon Jackson choked and punched the victim when she refused to shoplift for him.
A Minneapolis man has been charged with assaulting a woman in St. Louis Park after police say the woman refused to shoplift for him. Maurice Deon Jackson, 34, is charged with felony domestic assault, which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. According to the criminal complaint, signed by St. Louis Park Police Officer Siar Nadem, the victim contacted police on Oct. 8 and told them that Jackson, whom she described as her live-in boyfriend, had beaten her the night before. The woman said she and Jackson were outside a store in her car when he asked her to shoplift for him. When she refused, Jackson grabbed her by the neck, cutting off her breath, and then punched her in the face, according to the complaint. …

Police say Michael Duff McNamara became angry when the victim wouldn't give him his car keys, threatened her with a knife and strangled her.
A St. Louis Park man has been charged with threatening to kill a woman and her children and strangling her to the point where she was unable to breathe. Michael Duff McNamara, 57, is charged with two felonies: making terroristic threats, which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine, and domestic assault by strangulation, which has a maximum penalty of three years in prison and a $5,000 fine. Police say they found a loaded .38-caliber revolver in Dashawn Jermaine Jackson's pocket when they arrested him in Minneapolis.
A St. Louis Park man has been charged with illegally possessing a gun after a 2011 conviction for second-degree assault. Dashawn Jermaine Jackson, 20, is charged with being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, a felony with a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and a $30,000 fine. The charge has a mandatory minimum prison sentence of five years. A St. Louis Park woman with a history of domestic violence-related convictions has been charged with violating a protection order after police found her inside the screened porch of her ex-boyfriend’s home. Bree Anne Stewart, 37, is charged with violation of an order for protection, a felony with a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. A Minneapolis man has been charged with burglarizing a car in St. Louis Park and stealing coins out of a Tupperware container in the vehicle’s center console. Gardner Wayne Campbell, 42, is charged with second-degree burglary, a felony with a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine. A St. Louis Park man has been charged with cocaine possession after police stopped him for going almost twice the speed limit in a residential area in Robbinsdale. Ronald Plotsker, 61, is charged with fifth-degree drug possession, a felony with a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. He is also charged with two misdemeanor counts of fourth-degree DWI, each of which has a maximum penalty of 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.
