The Maple Grove Granite City is hosting a fundraiser in honor of a St. Louis Crave employee who died Feb. 2 after his vehicle went through the ice on Lake Minnetonka. Harland Dietrich went through the ice with his grandmother, who also died, and would have turned 32 in March. Friends and family set up the Harland Dietrich Memorial Fund in his honor. From 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday, the Maple Grove Granite City will donate 10 percent of the total tab to the fund whenever customers tell their server they’d like a portion of their tab donated.

Ten days after the passing of Harland Dietrich and Mary Ann Haram of Maple Grove, friends and family will hold a memorial service. According to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner press release, Harland Dietrich, 31, of Maple Grove, and Mary Ann Haram, 87, of Maple Grove were identified as the drowning victims in the Feb. 2 Lake Minnetonka incident. A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at the Champlin American Legion, located at 12450 Business Park Boulevard N. in Champlin. “Grandmother and Grandson had a very unique bond and will be greatly missed by all who knew them,” according to an obituary notice on StarTribune.com.
