The FBI wants tips on a bank-robbery suspect last seen in August who hit grocery-store banks in Plymouth, Maple Grove, St. Louis Park, Fridley and New Brighton.
Who wears a phony nose, robs banks and hasn't been seen in three months? That's what the FBI would like to know. The agency has renewed its appeal for information from the public on a man they believe robbed six banks from March to August. All six banks were inside grocery stores—in New Brighton, Plymouth, Maple Grove, Fridley and St. Louis Park (twice). The suspect has a distinctive disguise—a fake nose—and often a formal manner of dress, with hat, French cuffs and suit coat. "It's not a bad disguise. Clearly he's taken some time," said FBI spokesperson Kyle Loven. "I don't know if he's fooling people. I think a lot of people have waked by this guy in the grocery store." The FBI waited until after election hoopla was out of the news to …

A serial bank robber—with a trademark fake nose—likely hit St. Louis Park on Wednesday.
A Wednesday bank robbery in St. Louis Park was likely the work of a suspected serial bank robber who has been sporting some unique disguises. At the U.S. Bank branch at Byerly's on Wednesday around 10 a.m., a man wearing a fake nose and facial makeup approached the counter with a gun and demanded cash, then ran off with an undisclosed amount of money. FBI spokesman Kyle Loven said the agency is "reviewing data in order to determine whether or not this individual is responsible for other robberies." The FBI has recently been investigating a costumed man who has reportedly robbed at least five Twin Cities area banks in the past five months, including the same St. Louis Park U.S. Bank in April. The robber wore a fake nose in three of the …

The FBI is investigating Wednesday's incident, which occurred at the U.S. Bank branch inside Byerly's.
The U.S. Bank branch at Byerly's in St. Louis Park was robbed Wednesday morning for the second time in four months. And the robber—who wore a fake nose and facial makeup—could be a man suspected of several other area bank robberies in recent months. Wednesday's incident occurred around 10 a.m. The robber approached the counter with a gun and demanded cash, then ran off with an undisclosed amount of money, the FBI reports. The suspect is described as a black male with a light complexion, standing about 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighing roughly 220 pounds. In addition to the makeup and the fake nose, he wore a black baseball cap, a dark jacket and a dark shirt. The FBI has recently been investigating a costumed man who has reportedly …

The well-dressed man is believed to have robbed five local grocery store banks since late March.
On July 20 a well-dressed man, about six feet tall, with a possibly fake greying goatee and thick facial makeup, entered the TCF Bank in Fridley’s Cub Foods, pointed a semi-automatic pistol at the teller and left in a white, two-door car with a pile of cash. Now the FBI is saying they believe the suspect to be a serial bank robber who has hit five area grocery store banks since March, including the St. Louis Park Byerly's on April 13. Along with facial hair and makeup, the bureau believes he's donned a rubber nose, spectacles and various hats to disguise himself during his holdups. “He approaches the tellers, he displays a black pistol, he often throws a bag across the counter and demands the funds be put inside,” said Gregory Boosalis, an…

This is insane. I am not going to feel comfortable going here until they enact some kind of plan to prevent these dangerous events from happening in the future.   more ›
