Thieves Steal Christmas Presents From Garage

No security cameras were installed.

A few weeks before Christmas last month, a Grinch-like thief broke into a parking garage on the 400 block of Ford Road in St. Louis Park. He or she proceeded to break into and ransack four cars. The owners of two of the targeted cars told St. Louis Park police officers they couldn't find anything missing. One car had its dashboard pried apart and its radio ripped out. But in the last car, thieves stole a $100 tool set, a $30 mini pool table, a $20 throw blanket, and several wrapped Christmas presents that were kept in the back seat. The building's managers told police they did not have any security cameras watching the garage.

Parents Talk

Parents Talk: What Are Your Holiday Traditions?

Share your family's traditions with us.

The "Mouse House," as we called it, was special because inside a mushroom was a family of mice, each doing their own thing. We would stick a lightbulb inside the house from a string of lights so you could see what was going on inside. I know, I know, that sounds pretty lame. But it's just one of those things that sticks with me. With all that's going on in the world right now, sometimes it's nice to take a break and think about memories that are simple and happy. We want to know: What are those traditions that just "stick with you?"  Did your Grandma make…

My dad, would have us girls (no brothers) get ready, teeth, hair and dressed (no PJs) and before we could come downstairs to open the gifts. Before we got off the steps, we stood on the steps in birth order (mom in front) and have the official picture taken before we could come down.   more ›

Where's Santa? Track Him Live from St. Louis Park!

Through the North American Aerospace Defense Command, you can follow the jolly man's magical flight on this page.

They sent him their wish lists, sat on his lap, and left cookies and milk for his arrival. Now the only thing left for children to do is track Santa's progress as he delivers gifts around the world on Christmas Eve. Thanks to the folks behind the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) website, families worldwide can now follow Santa's Christmas journey in real time. The tradition started in 1955 after an advertisement for Sears Roebuck & Co. misprinted a telephone number for a special "Santa hotline." Instead of reaching Kris Kringle, the number put kids through to the Continental Air Defense Command (CONAD) Commander-in-Chief’s operations, according to a description on the NORAD Tracks Santa Facebook page, which has more than 1 …

Douglas-fir:  This tree is generally available as a sheared tree and is the most common species found on tree lots. It has a nice fragrance and a medium-to-good shelf life.
