On Saturday, the day of her memorial service, friends and family members are asking St. Louis Park residents to fly orange balloons in her honor. A Facebook page called "Gone but Never Forgotten R.I.P Carly Christenson" was created Tuesday and had 978 likes as of 8 p.m. Friday. Another called "R.I.P Carly Christenson," also created Tuesday, had 474 likes as of Friday night. The following obituary was provided by Westwood Lutheran Church: Celebrating the life of Carly Christenson Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 3 p.m. Memorial Service 2 p.m. Visitation Christenson, Carly Evelyn age 14, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013 at Children's Hospital in Minneapolis from complications from Influenza. Carly is the daughter of Sandy (Finneseth) and Sean Christenson of St. Louis Park, MN. She was born in Edina, MN, on May 27, 1998 and was a freshman at St. Louis Park High School where she was involved in many extracurricular activities. A worship service at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Westwood Lutheran Church included "a time of prayer and candle-lighting to remember Carly (Christenson)," according to a Constant Contact post by church staff. Carly died at 12:40 p.m. Tuesday, according to the church. A YouTube user named zappyext posted a video Wednesday morning "In Remembrance of Carly Christenson." As a parent this is the worst tragedy that can befall a family. Our prayers are with Carly's family. friends and our community. The rest of us can help stop the spread of this virus.
