To add a marker, just click on the blue "Add" button on the map's upper-right corner. Then, click on the intersection you want to identify and hit "submit" in the dialogue box that pops up.
Earlier this month, the City of Minneapolis released a study of car crash statistics that had some striking results: a great many collisions between bicycles and automobiles were the fault of both the cyclist and the driver involved. Red pins in the map above mark the worst intersections for bike-car crashes. Depending on where your views lie on the car-versus-bike question, the results might not have been all that surprising. The study, which analyzed data from 2000 to 2010, found that many drivers caused crashes by not yielding to bikes when they should under state law. It also said that many cyclists caused accidents by "riding in an unpredictable manner," doing things like running traffic lights or riding on the wrong side of the road…

MnDOT reporting spin-outs, crashes.
This weekend's snow storm may not be causing many backups on West Metro highways, but it has caused several crashes. According to information from MnDOT, Interstate 394 and Highways 100, 169, and 62 had at least 3 crashes or spin-outs occur in the last hour. So far, according to Lt. Eric Roeske of the Minnesota State Patrol, the storm has caused 373 spinouts on Twin Cities roads and 301 accidents. 32 people have been injured. With snow totals expected to top 9 to 15 inches, city officials in St. Louis Park have declared an on-street parking ban until streets have been fully plowed, curb to curb. Police say both drivers—a Bloomington man and a Plymouth man—tried to make the light.
Two cars crashed Tuesday night in front of the former Cedar Manor school. A Plymouth woman was sitting in her car on Cedar Lake Road, waiting for eastbound traffic to pass before she made a turn onto the Highway 169 on-ramp, according to a report filed by Officer Mary Albrecht with the St. Louis Park Police Department. As the light turned yellow, the woman told police she believed oncoming traffic was slowing down. As she started to make her turn, a Bloomington man driving eastbound on Cedar Lake Road sped up to make it through the intersection before the light changed. The two cars collided. The driver of the eastbound car told police that he wasn't sure how the accident had happened. The crash was reported at about 9:20 p.m. Tuesday, Oct…

The man had no visible injuries but was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center.
A man was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center Thursday following a “medical situation” that caused him to drive his vehicle into a pond off Highway 169, according to the State Patrol. Two witnesses saw the man’s sedan driving erratically prior to the incident, said State Patrol Lt. Eric Roeske. The vehicle went off the highway, behind a guardrail and into a pond near the southbound Minnetonka Boulevard entrance ramp. The witnesses were able to pull the man out of his vehicle. He did not have any visible injuries but was taken by ambulance to Hennepin County Medical Center. Roeske, who wouldn't disclose the driver's identity, doesn't anticipate troopers will issue any citations from this incident, pending further investigation.

Roundabouts are EASY. and much faster than stop signs or lights. Just the typical Amerikan driver is too busy reading, texting, eating, to actually pay attention to driving. They are NOT that hard to use if everyone does it properly.   more ›
