Minnetonka beat the Red Knights in overtime Friday.
Benilde-St. Margaret's didn't muster enough offense in regulation, then allowed an overtime goal to Minnetonka as the Red Knights fell in the Section 6AA girls hockey final on Friday, 2-1. The top-seeded Red Knights lost to the Skippers for the second straight year in the section finals. In 2011, Minnetonka blanked BSM, 4-0, then went on to win the state title. Both teams came into the game with serious championship aspirations. BSM was ranked No. 2 in the state and finishes the year 21-3. Minnetonka entered the game at No. 3 and is now 20-5. The two teams previously met on Dec. 10, with the Red Knights prevailing at home, 2-0.
