BSM Boys Head to State Title Match

The Red Knights topped SPA 1-0 on Monday, will play for their first state championship since 2006 on Thursday at 10 a.m.

The Benilde-St. Margaret’s boys soccer team continued its stretch of dominance on Monday with a 1-0 win over St. Paul Academy and Summit School in the Class A semifinals. The Red Knights used a game-winner by senior Jake Horton just 10 seconds into the second half at the Metrodome in Minneapolis. The win puts BSM in the championship game on Thursday at 10 a.m. against Prairie Seeds Academy. BSM (18-2-1) entered the state tournament as the No. 2 seed. The Red Knights are currently on a six-game winning streak in which they’ve outscored their opponents by a 24-1 margin. On Monday, it was more of the same.
