The Red Knights couldn't muster enough offense against Irondale on Friday.
Knights proved superior to Red Knights on Friday. The Irondale Knights (4-1 overall, 4-0 in North Suburban Conference) topped the Benilde-St. Margaret's Red Knights (2-3 overall, 2-3 NSC) 20-14 on Friday night in BSM's homecoming game. BSM actually led 14-7 at halftime, but the second half proved frustrating as the Red Knights didn't score again. Irondale tied the game with a 5-yard touchdown run by Justus Canfield in the third quarter, then took the lead on a 61-yard dash by AJ Myles midway through the fourth. Junior quarterback Keaton Studsrud kept the Red Knights in the game with 246 passing yards and a score, completing 22 of 38. A bulk of those throws went to junior Sam Lynch, who caught 11 balls for 122 yards. BSM will host Chisago …

The senior was the only local athlete to make the list.
Benilde-St. Margaret's Paul Graupner was named to the AP all-state football team on Tuesday as the first team kicker/punter. The Red Knights look energized after their big win against Orono last week. Can they upset the 8-1 Spring Lake Park Panthers Friday night?

The new Quality Results Formula determined seeds this year.
St. Louis Park will open up on the road next week in Simley when section football playoffs begin, while Benilde-St. Margaret's will start at home after a bye. The Orioles earned the No. 5 seed in Section 3AAAA. A win against Simley in the first round on Tuesday would earn St. Louis Park a match-up with undefeated top seed St. Thomas Academy on Saturday, Oct. 29. The Red Knights got the No. 2 seed in Section 6AAAA and a first-round bye. BSM will take on either third-seeded Orono or sixth-seeded Park Center in the section semifinals on Saturday, Oct. 29, at home. Red Knights' second-half collapse Wednesday ends in 46-37 loss to Chisago Lakes in season finale.
Benilde-St. Margaret's (3-4 North Suburban Conference, 4-4 overall) opened the second half against Chisago Lakes (4-3, 4-4) Wednesday with a long kick-off return and a 36-yard touchdown scamper by sophomore quarterback Keaton Studsrud to go up 31-14, conceivably putting the game away. But the Wildcats responded by scoring 32 of the game's next 38 points to stun the Red Knights 46-37 at BSM Stadium in the final game of the regular season. "(Chisago Lakes) came after us (in) the second half and did some really good things," BSM co-head coach Jon Hanks said. "They got back to their bread-and-butter stuff that they really enjoy, which is smash-mouth football. We didn't respond." The Red Knights were led by Studsrud (112 rushing yards and a …
