St. Louis Park improved to 6-6 with a win over Robbinsdale Cooper on Friday.

With the win, the Orioles improved to 3-1 in the North Suburban Conference, which has them one game back of first-place Spring Lake Park (4-0 in NSC). Park is now 4-9 on the season. Megan Sawatzky leads the team in scoring with 8.9 points per game. Tammy Brathwaite, Cianna Edwards and Abigail Olson are also all averaging more than eight points a night. The Orioles will host St. Francis on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. in their next game. Benilde-St. Margaret's Swimmers Finish Season At State Finals

McGinn, Johnson each earn All-State accolades by competing in Saturday's championship heat.

The Benilde-St. Margaret’s boys swimming and diving team finished its season Saturday at the Class A state finals, placing two swimmers on the podium with All-State accolades. BSM’s Jack McGinn took fourth overall in the 500-yard freestyle at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center, finishing the race in 4:54.36. He also took seventh in the 200-yard freestyle with a finish in 1:48.93. His teammate, Parker Johnson, finished seventh in the 100-yard backstroke. He had a time of 57.08 seconds. For many, “March Madness” is a reference to the popular annual college basketball tournament. But March madness is also an apt description for Minnesota high school sports at the moment, as state tournament season is in full swing. With that in mind, St. Louis Park Patch brings you a quick guide of what’s going on — and whether any local teams or athletes are in the running. Boys swimming: St. Louis Park junior Erik McCague finished 12th in the Class AA 100-yard butterfly preliminaries on Friday night, which will send him to Saturday's consolation finals. Benilde-St. Margaret's Advances Swimmers To State Finals

Parker Johnson and Jack McGinn each will compete on Saturday for state championships.

The Benilde-St. Margaret’s boys swimming and diving team advanced swimmers in three events at Friday’s Class A state preliminary round at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center. Junior Jack McGinn led the way by finishing fourth in the 500-yard freestyle relay. He finished the race in 4:46.37. McGinn also finished eighth in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a 1:49.44 time. Junior Parker Johnson finished the 100-yard backstroke in 56.49, which put him eighth on the day. Johnson and McGinn will compete in the championship heat at Saturday’s Class A state finals, which begin at 1 p.m. at the Aquatic Center.   BSM PRELIMINARY RESULTS
