East Coast Travel in and out of MSP Delayed

The airport is urging area travelers to call ahead if they plan to fly to or from the East Coast today, as dozens of flights have been canceled due to blizzard-like conditions out East.

A winter storm is continuing to ground hundreds of flights along the Northeast corridor, The Associated press reports, hindering plans of those trying to get home to the Twin Cities after the holidays. The storm — which could bring 10 inches of snow to the Washington region today, according to the National Weather Service —has already caused the cancellation of dozens of East Coast flights in and out of Minneapolis St. Paul International. The NWS has also forecasted blizzard warnings for the New York and Philadelphia areas, as well as overnight temperatures in the 20s and wind gusts of up to 30 mph.
