St. Louis Park resident Marion S. Gold died Monday at the age of 89, according to an obituary from Hodroff-Epstein Memorial Chapel. Gold was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters. She is survived by two sisters and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. A funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Tuessay at United Hebrew Brotherhood Cemetery Chapel ( 70½ Street and Thomas Ave. S., Richfield). Kenneth Raymond Abrahamson served on a battle-damage repair ship from 1942 to 1945.
Kenneth Raymond Abrahamson, the son of a Swedish immigrants and a World War II vet, died May 8 at the age of 92, according to a Washburn-McCreavy obituary. He was raised on his parents’ farm in Silver Creek Township, Wright County, attended the one-room Enfield school and Monticello High School. After the Pearl Harbor attack, he enlisted in the Navy and served on the battle-damage repair ship USS Oceanus (ARB-2) from 1942 to 1945. After he left the Navy, he attended the University of Minnesota then transferred to the Dunwoody Institute. Following graduation, he joined the Minneapolis contractor Hauenstein & Burmeister. He was born in Rugby, North Dakota and attended grade school and high school in Bismarck, North Dakota. He graduated from the University of North Dakota with a degree in mechanical engineering. Ardelle Athmann May 24, 1923 - April 11, 2013 St. Louis Park Survived by wife, Doris; daughter, Sandy (John) Fritscher; grandson, Matthew Fritscher; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by sons, Douglas, David and Robert; parents, Otto and Freda; brother, Burwyn; sister, Elaine Loraas. Ardelle was a WWII Navy veteran and a member of the Knights of Columbus #3949, Fourth Degree. A lifelong elementary school educator, Ardelle taught for 3 years in rural MN, 1 year at Naytahwash on the White Earth Reservation, 5 years in Fosston, 2 years in Crookston and was a teacher and principal in St. Louis Park for 27 years. St. Louis Park resident Sylvia Bloomberg died Wednesday at the age 91, according to Hodroff-Epstein Memorial Chapels. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two daughters and brother. She is survived by her daughter, two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, sister, sister-in-law and many loving nieces and nephews. Creative, humorous and generous, Leon brightened the lives of those he met. Leon was the founder of the L J Rubber Stamp Company which he retired from in 1995.
