SLP Goodwill Holding Grand Opening Saturday in LA Fitness Parking Lot
The 17,600-square-foot store will open at 3575 Highway 100.
A 17,600-square-foot Goodwill store will hold a grand open Nov. 16 in the southwest portion of the existing LA Fitness' parking lot. The store opened Nov. 9.
About 1.5 acres of the LA Fitness parking lot were converted into space for the Goodwill at 3575 Highway 100. LA Fitness officials told city staff they were comfortable with the introduction of Goodwill, which reduced the size of their lot to 5.47 acres.
St. Louis Park mayor Jeff Jacobs, a member of LA Fitness, said in May that the parking concerns at the site are minimal.
"As packed as the place in inside, there's plenty of parking there," he said.
A 9 a.m. ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday will be followed by giveaways and bargains.
The new store is expected to employ up to 30 employees, alongside 8-12 participants engaged in career training programs.

Goodwill has more than 30 locations throughout Minnesota and Hudson, Wi.
