Junior Leaders Recognized by City Council

The 16 youngsters helped out at St. Louis Park parks this summer.

Last week, a group of St. Louis Park youngsters were celebrated for their volunteer work at parks across the city.

St. Louis Park Junior Leaders were recognized by City Council during a quick ceremony on July 18. The Junior Leaders program allows kids in grades 7-9 an opportunity to help assist full-time leaders run various youth activities during the summer.

This year, 16 Junior Leaders helped out at 11 different city parks and put on activities for 740 kids. All told, they volunteered 800 hours of their time.

“We really want to thank you all for helping at our parks,” Mayor Jeff Jacobs.
