Why I'm Running for Re-Election
I am Sue Santa and I have been honored to serve as the Ward 3 City Council representative for ten years. I’m pleased to announce that I am running for re-election. I appreciate your past support and I hope that I have earned your continuing confidence and can count on your vote in the Primary Election on August 13.
As your Councilmember, I strive to preserve and improve our community, neighborhoods, and quality of life. I apply my city leadership experience to promote a livable, attractive, safe, and welcoming community. I focus on sound fiscal management to ensure that St. Louis Park continues to maintain the responsible, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of services that residents need and want.
During the next four years, my priorities will include:
Find out what's happening in St. Louis Parkwith free, real-time updates from Patch.
- listening to residents and advocating for their priorities
- encouraging appropriate economic redevelopment to create jobs, eliminate blighted properties, and reduce the impact of property taxes on our residents

- supporting the construction of Southwest Light Rail Transit while continuing to oppose the rerouting of freight rail traffic through our neighborhoods
- promoting the creation of a new community center
- protecting our environment – expanding recycling options, reducing pollution, etc.
In addition to serving as your City Councilmember, I have been a leader in many other organizations. I have actively participated in the SLP Community Education Advisory Council for over 15 years, including serving as Chair, Co-Chair and Secretary. I am the founding President and active member of the Aquila Neighborhood Association and currently serve on the STEP board and am the President of the St. Louis Park Economic Development Authority.
