Key to Awesome-ness: Most years, it’s the big boys that find success in this west metro district. And that means programs such as Wayzata and Osseo/Maple Grove, both of which are among the largest youth hockey associations in town, typically come out on top and advance to the regional tournament.

But this year, St. Louis Park trumped them all, meaning the Orioles are advancing to regionals this weekend. Steve Rosen, the president of the St. Louis Park Hockey Association, said it’s been “many years” since St. Louis Park has won the district.

“It’s a great accomplishment by these guys,” Rosen said. “It’s a great bunch of kids and they worked hard.”

You can see the team’s full roster on the St. Louis Park Hockey Association website.
