(VIDEO) Roenick Takes to the Ice for Jabs

The skate preceded a star-studded gala Thursday night to raise money for Jack Jablonski.

Former NHL star Jeremy Roenick joined Jack Jablonski on the ice Thursday at the  to raise money for the  hockey player who sustained a severe spinal cord injury last year.

A number of young skaters paid $75 to skate with Roenick, and funds raised will support Jablonski's ongoing care and recovery. Jablonski broke two vertebrae during a game last Decmeber. He has not walked since and is currently using a motorized wheelchair to get around.

The charity skate served as a kickoff to tonight's main event—a sold-out gala in Jack's honor at the Xcel Energy Center. A who's who of Minnesota hockey will attend, the Pioneer Press notes.
