Orioles Finish Regular Season With Loss to Fridley

The Orioles host a section playoff game next week.

The St. Louis Park football team finished its season on a seven-game losing streak but will still open the section playoffs at home next week.

The Orioles finished their regular season on Wednesday night with a 25-21 loss at Fridley. Park actually held a 21-6 lead in the second quarter, but the Tigers rattled off 19 straight points.

Scoring for St. Louis Park were Nick Shaughnessy (on an interception return), Mitchell Thomas and D.J. Pollard.

Despite ending the regular season with a 1-7 mark, St. Louis Park got a No. 4 seed in the six-team Section 3AAAAA. That means the Orioles will host No. 5 Bloomington Kennedy (0-8 this season) in the opening round on Tuesday. The winner will take on No. 1 seed Apple Valley (6-2) on Oct. 27 in the section semifinals.
