SLP Girls Hockey to Host Pancake Breakfast

The Saturday morning event aims to help promote the youth girls hockey community.

The varsity girls hockey team will host a pancake breakfast on Saturday in the gallery room.

The event, which will take place from 9-11 a.m., will support youth girls hockey in St. Louis Park. There is no price of admission for the event.

“We are doing this for the young girls in St. Louis Park who we want to keep in the program,” Orioles coach Donnie William said, “which at the same time is a number of girls that we need to grow.”

Parents, coaches and players will be involved in all aspects of the breakfast. Williams said the players grew up playing in St. Louis Park, and it’s important to keep them involved and show pride in both the city and the hockey program.

Williams said events like this are important to help the girls hockey program grow. He said the camaraderie is important in expanding the game of hockey in the community.

Williams said the team has plans besides the pancake breakfast to help promote the girls youth hockey program.

“There have been great times and down times, but SLP hockey has provided many special memories to kids over the years,” Williams said. “We would like to grow those opportunities.”
