St. Louis Park Girl Heads to Track and Field Championships

Faith Robinson will compete in the long jump and 100-meter sprint.

A St. Louis Park girl is competing at the 2013 USA Track and Field (USATF) Youth Outdoor Championships after setting a state record earlier this year.

Faith Robinson won the 100-meter sprint and the long jump at the Minnesota USATF Junior Olympic Championships on June 15 and 16. Her jump of 14 feet 9 ¾ inches beat the 20-year-old state record by three inches.

She also won the silver medal in the 200-meter spring.

She’ll compete in the 100-meter sprint and long jump at the USATF Youth Outdoor Championships, which takes place June 25 though 30 at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in Edwardsville, IL.

Robinson already has already competed in the USATF National Youth Indoor Championships, the 2012 USATF Junior Olympics and the 2011 USATF Junior Olympics.
