St. Louis Park Football At-a-Glance

  • 2011 Record: 3-6 overall, 3-4 in North Suburban Conference
  • Playoffs: Lost to Simley in first round
  • Coach: Vince Varpness (second season at SLP)

Key Players

  • Junior QB Quinn Livdahl: Will be starting the season opener and replacing the talented Jacolbi Courington-Meier, who graduated
  • Senior LB Nick Shaughnessy: An all-conference player last year, Shaughnessy will be expected to be one of the defensive leaders
  • Senior OL Charlie Koch: Also an all-conference player last year, Koch will be expected to anchor the line and provide leadership

Coach's Quick Thoughts

  • Team Strengths: Defense is expected to do well due to seven returning starters; six of those seven are seniors. The linebacking core is aggressive in both the run and pass game. The offensive line returns four starters; three of those four are juniors. This group at OL will provide a solid foundation for the offense in both the run and pass game.
  • Areas of Concern: Overall numbers are small so we need to stay healthy.
