St. Louis Park Falls Short in 15AAA Championship
The St Louis Park 15AAA Baseball team lost 5-2 to Waconia Thursday night.
The St Louis Park 15AAA baseball team had a great run in the playoffs but fell short of a Metro Baseball League championship in a 5-2 loss to Waconia Thursday night.
Waconia scored two first inning runs on a couple of wild pitches that got away from the catcher and allowed the runner to steal home. The miscues by St. Louis Park continued as the Wildcats would score two more runs in later innings the same way.
Heading into the final inning, St. Louis Park trailed 5-0 and hadn't generated any hits against the Waconia pitching. However, the first three batters for St. Louis Park reached base, and Jesse Knudson drove in the first run. Ryan Froom also had an RBI but at the price of a double play, which killed the late rally.
