St. Louis Park Baseball Team Edges Breck to Start Season 2-0

The Orioles survived a seventh-inning scare to win on the road.

St. Louis Park's baseball team hung on during a tense seventh inning Monday afternoon to defeat Breck 2-0 in Golden Valley. Orioles pitcher John Gallice threw a complete-game nine hitter for the win.

The Orioles were clinging to a one-run lead when the Mustangs loaded the bases with no outs in the seventh on a bad-hop error, single and walk.

St. Louis Park head coach Aaron McEachran brought the infield in, and Breck's next batter hit a liner to shortstop Derrick Keller, who fielded it cleanly and started a slick 6-2-3 double play. The last batter was retired on a harmless putout, and the Orioles survived.
