SLP Girls Hoops Loses Two

The Orioles had a rough weekend, falling to Irondale on Friday, 37-27, then dropping a Saturday game to South St. Paul, 73-58.

Park is now 4-9 on the season. Megan Sawatzky leads the team in scoring with 8.9 points per game. Tammy Brathwaite, Cianna Edwards and Abigail Olson are also all averaging more than eight points a night.

The Orioles will host St. Francis on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. in their next game.

BSM Girls Hoops Keeps Rolling

After an easy 65-7 win over Columbia Heights on Friday, the Red Knights had more of a challenge on Saturday, but prevailed over St. Paul Central, 58-54.

BSM (No. 5 in Class 3A) is now 8-2 on the season. Sophomore Grace Goughlin is leading the way with 14.2 points per game, while senior Khadijah Shumpert is adding 12.7 per contest.

Up next is a Tuesday home game against Robbinsdale Cooper.

SLP Nordic Skiing Competes at Giant Ridge

The St. Louis Park boys and girls Nordic ski teams competed at Giants Ridge in Biwabik, MN, on Saturday as part of the Mesabi East Cross Country Ski Invitational.

The boys team finished 15th out of 60 teams, while the girls came in 35th. The top finishing boy was senior Michael Cork (5th in 5km freestyle), while junior Sarah Webb (44th in 5km freestyle) paced the girls.

BSM Boys Swimming Takes 1st

The Red Knights topped a 16-team field at the Maroon and Gold Invite (Tiger Division) Saturday at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center. Individual results were not immediately available.

Results were not immediately available for BSM dance, BSM wrestling, SLP gymnastics or SLP boys swimming.
