Local schools go head-to-head in conference dual; BSM, SLP volleyball teams both lose on Tuesday.

With both and gearing up for the start of soccer playoffs on Thursday, the Red Knights and Orioles went head-to-head in the pool, while each school's volleyball teams lost conference matches on Tuesday.

Red Knights Volleyball Falls

A 3-1 loss at Irondale Tuesday dropped the BSM volleyball team to 7-15 overall and 5-4 in the North Suburban as the Red Knights prepare to host an invitational tournament on Saturday.

Orioles Volleyball Drops Another

The Park volleyball team fell to 2-15 overall and 1-7 in the North Suburban in a 3-0 loss to visiting conference foe St. Francis Tuesday.

Individual statistics were not made available. The Orioles play at Spring Lake Park on Thursday, compete in the Faribault Tournament on Saturday, then conclude the regular season at Robbinsdale Cooper on Tuesday, Oct. 18.

Red Knights Soccer Begins Playoffs Thursday

The BSM girls and boys soccer teams, ranked first and second in their respective Class A polls, begin the Section 6A Tournament at home on Thursday.

The Red Knights boys play Watertown-Mayer at 5 p.m., followed by the girls hosting Delano at 7 p.m.

Orioles Soccer Draws Home Playoff Games

The Section 6AA playoffs begin at home for both the Park boys and girls soccer teams on Thursday, with the Orioles girls taking on Minneapolis South at 5 p.m., followed by the boys hosting Roseville at 7 p.m.
