Runners Represent St. Louis Park in Boston Marathon

The famous race was held Monday.

Five St. Louis Park residents were among the runners who crossed the finish line at Monday’s Boston Marathon.

The following local runners finished the famous race, according to searchable results on the Boston Athletic Association website:

  • Natalie Walz, 31, 3:36:39 (3,976th place overall)
  • Kristi Olson, 26, 3:57:50 (8,144th)
  • Lezlie Helfmann, 39, 4:27:08 (13,685th)
  • Allison Burgess, 29, 4:42:32 (15,819th)
  • David Binsfeld, 36, 5:31:03 (19,634th)

In all, 22,480 runners from around the world started the race and 21,554 finished. Minnesota had 419 people start the race and 408 finish.

In the overall competition, Sharon Cherop, 28, of Kenya took the top female spot with a time of 2:31:50 and Wesley Korir, 29, of Kenya and Louisville, KY, led the men with a time of 2:12:40.
