Red Knights, Orioles Softball Close Out Regular Seasons

Both the and softball teams closed out their regular season schedules this week as each squad now makes its preparations for the postseason, set to begin on May 23.

Benilde-St. Margaret's Softball: Red Knights Close Regular Season

The Benilde-St. Margaret's softball team closed out the regular season with a 5-0 loss to North Suburban Conference champion Totino-Grace on Tuesday after out-slugging Fridley 20-14 on Monday.

The early-week split left the Red Knights' regular season record at 11-9 overall and 7-7 in the circuit.

Next up for BSM is the Section 6AAA Tournament, with the playoffs set to run from May 23-June 1.

St. Louis Park Softball: Orioles End Regular Season With Three Losses

The St. Louis Park softball team closed out the regular season with three-straight losses, falling 5-4 to Robbinsdale Cooper on Tuesday, 7-0 to St. Francis on Wednesday and 10-0 to Irondale on Thursday.

The Orioles claimed their final regular-season victory on Monday with a 12-7 win against visiting Concordia Academy and head into the playoffs with a 4-13 overall record after taking ninth in the North Suburban with a 3-11 circuit mark.

St. Louis Park begins play in the Section 6AAA Tournament against a yet-to-be determined opponent on May 23.

Benilde-St. Margaret's Girls Lacrosse: Red Knights 14, Spring Lake Park 10

The Benilde-St. Margaret's girls lacrosse team upped its record to 6-6 this spring with a 14-10 defeat of conference foe Spring Lake Park on Tuesday, followed by a 7-6 besting of Robbinsdale Cooper on Thursday. 

After a 16-15 setback to Holy Family Catholic on Monday, the victories ended a four-game losing streak for the Red Knights.

Paige Lawlor leads the Red Knights with 10 goals, with Maddy Moore netting nine tallies this spring.

St. Louis Park Girls Lacrosse: Orioles Win North Suburban Title

The St. Louis Park girls lacrosse team closed out its regular season with four-straight wins to clinch the North Suburban championship with a 9-3 overall record and a 6-0 conference mark.

The Orioles defeated Totino-Grace 6-5 on Tuesday and topped Spring Lake Park 11-6 on Thursday in their final pre-playoff match-ups.

Lauren Bruun-Bryant led Park with 19 goals this spring, with Ellie Hoppmann chipping in 11.

The Section 5 Tournament is scheduled to begin on May 25, with the Orioles' seed and opening opponent yet to be determined.

Benilde-St. Margaret's Baseball: Red Knights Pull Into First-Place Tie

Riding a five-game winning streak, the Benilde-St. Margaret's baseball team moved into a first-place tie in the North Suburban with Robbinsdale Cooper, with both teams boasting an 11-2 conference record as of Friday morning.

The Red Knights, 13-4 overall, defeated Fridley 11-1 on Monday and Irondale 7-6 on Thursday.

Patrick Daly's .448 batting average over 58 at-bats leads BSM, with Spencer Shaveer knocking two home runs in 25 at-bats this spring. Pitchers Kenny Polarek and Jimmy Heck have each won three games this season.

St. Louis Park Baseball: Orioles 3-1 This Week

After losing 8-1 to Robbinsdale Cooper on Monday, the St. Louis Park baseball team strung together three-straight victories—defeating Columbia Heights (13-3), Fridley (6-2) and St. Paul Highland Park (4-0) on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.

The Orioles head into their regular-season finale on Friday at Columbia Heights with a 12-5 overall record and a 9-4 conference mark.

Benilde-St. Margaret's Boys Golf: Draxler Medals Twice On Thursday

Brett Draxler medaled twice to lead the Benilde-St. Margaret's boys golf team to first- and second-place finishes in a pair of North Suburban meets on Thursday.

Draxler fired a one-under-par 35 to lead the Red Knights to a score of 154 and a win at The Ponds Golf Course, and fired a one-over-par 37 at Majestic Oaks Golf Course as BSM finished second with a 159.

Benilde-St. Margaret's Boys Lacrosse: Red Knights 11, Spring Lake Park 2

The Benilde-St. Margaret's boys lacrosse team remained unbeaten on the year, improving to 11-0 overall and 4-0 in the North Suburban with an 11-2 defeat of Spring Lake Park Tuesday. 

The Red Knights host Holy Angels on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

The Benilde-St. Margaret's girls golf team took third in a North Suburban meet at Baker National Tuesday with a score of 202.

St. Louis Park Girls Golf: Orioles Fifth In Conference Meet

A card of 209 placed the St. Louis Park girls golf team fifth in a North Suburban meet at Baker National on Tuesday.

St. Louis Park Boys Golf: Orioles Fourth, Sixth In Conference Meets

The St. Louis Park boys golf team played two North Suburban meets on Thursday, carding a 165 to take fourth at Majestic Oaks Golf Course and logging a 172 to take sixth at The Ponds Golf Course. Individual results were not available.
