The Benilde-St. Margaret's boys lacrosse team will get a chance to defend its state title after the Red Knights defeated Blake, 9-8, in overtime in the Section 5 championship game at Roseville High School on Thursday.

Simon Gondeck's goal with 1:21 remaining in the overtime session clinched the victory for BSM after Blake had rallied to tie the game with three unanswered fourth-quarter goals.
Will Hoesley scored three times for the victors, with Gondeck and Taylor Tapousis scoring twice, and Christian Horn and Christian Rekow once apiece.

Now 16-0 on the season, the Red Knights will begin their title defense with the state semifinals on Tuesday at Chanhassen High School.
St. Louis Park Boys Golf: Cichoski Returning To State
Matt Cichoski of the St. Louis Park boys golf team will be returning to the state Class AAA tournament, to be held June 14-16 at Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids.
The Orioles junior claimed the final qualifying spot in Section 6AAA with a two-day score of 156 after competition on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Ridges of Sand Creek.
Last year, Cichoski finished in a tie for 45th at state with a two-round score of 159.
