Railcats Hang on to Top West St. Paul
The St. Louis Park American Legion baseball team won 11-8 on Monday night.
The St. Louis Park Railcats American Legion baseball team improved to 2-1 on the season with an 11-8 defeat of West St. Paul at on Monday night.
While the Railcats fell behind 1-0 to the visitors in the first inning, Christian Erickson scored for Park in the bottom of the second to knot the score at 1-1.
The hosts then pushed West St. Paul to the brink of the 10-run rule with a nine-run fourth inning highlighted by Jack Bordewick's three-run home run as the Railcats took a 10-1 lead into the fifth inning.

However, West St. Paul rallied for six runs in its next at-bat to pull to within 10-7.
Both teams recorded a single run in their ensuing turns at the plate before the Railcats held on to record the three-run victory. Starting pitcher Ryne McNary earned the win with five innings of work with Derrick Keller and Bobby Otto pitching in relief.
