St. Louis Park Boys Tennis: Wayzata 7, Orioles 0
A 7-0 loss to Wayzata in the Section 6AA quarterfinals on Monday concluded the team season for the St. Louis Park boys tennis squad. Next up for the Orioles is the sectional individual tournament on May 31.
Benilde-St. Margaret's Boys Tennis: Minneapolis South 6, Red Knights 1
The Benilde-St. Margaret's boys tennis team was defeated by Minneapolis South, 6-1, in the quarterfinals of the Section 6AA playoffs, ending the Red Knights' team season. Selected BSM players will compete in the sectional individual tournament beginning May 31.
St. Louis Park Softball: Orioles Eliminated In Sectionals
A 10-1 loss to Richfield in the second round of the Section 6AAA playoffs on Tuesday ended the St. Louis Park softball team's season.
The Orioles, seeded 11th in the bracket, had beaten Robbinsdale Armstrong, 2-1, in the first round on Monday and put together a 5-14 record this spring.
Benilde-St. Margaret's Softball: Red Knights Season Comes To An End
The Benilde-St. Margaret's softball team was defeated, 6-2, by Orono in its Section 6AAA Tournament opener on Tuesday, ending the Red Knights' season with an 11-10 record.
Benilde-St. Margaret's Baseball: Red Knights 9, Holy Angels 2
The Benilde-St. Margaret's baseball team won its regular-season finale, 9-2, over Holy Angels in Richfield on Tuesday to head into the playoffs with a 14-5 record.
Patrick Daly and Joe Melles each drove in two runs apiece, with Greg Zeman and Robby Sutherland each scoring twice to help make a winner of starting pitcher Kenny Polarek, who scattered 10 hits and two earned runs over seven innings of work.
BSM claimed the No. 2 seed for the Section 6AAA playoffs and will host either Bloomington Kennedy or Minneapolis South on Friday.
St. Louis Park Baseball: Orioles Seeded Fifth For Sectional
After a 14-5 regular season, the St. Louis Park baseball team claimed a No. 5 seed for the Section 6AAA playoffs and will take on Wayzata at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Dakota Field.
Results were not available for conference championship meets involving the St. Louis Park and Benilde-St. Margaret's boys golf and track/field teams.
