Michels' Goals Lift BSM to State Soccer Semifinals
The Red Knights beat South St. Paul 3-1 on Friday in the Class A quarterfinals.
The girls soccer team advanced to the Class A state semifinals on Friday with a 3-1 win over South St. Paul at Roseville Area High School.
The Red Knights (17-0-3) remained unbeaten on the year thanks to building a 3-0 lead and never looking back. Anne Arnason opened up scoring with a goal at the 21:36 mark of the first half, and Maria Michels picked up the first of her two goals at the 38:42 mark of the first.
Michels scored again at the 50:27 mark to give BSM a 3-0 lead, and the shutout was in tact until SSP’s Asia Owen scored with one minute remaining in the game.

BSM will play Totino-Grace (14-4-2) on Monday at the Metrodome in Minneapolis. Game time is set for 2 p.m. The winner will play for the state championship.
