McEachran Resigns as Park Baseball Coach

The St. Louis Park alum is taking a full-time coaching position at Dakota County Technical College.

Aaron McEachran has resigned as the varsity baseball coach to take a full-time coaching position at Dakota County Technical College.

The 33-year-old Park alum led the Orioles to a 25-13 record the last two seasons, including a 12-7 mark in 2012. He will be the hitting coach and primary recruiter at DCTC. McEachran served as a part-time assistant coach at the school over the past four years.

McEachran was a first-team all-state player as a Park senior in 1998. He went to Northern Iowa on a baseball scholarship and was named a freshman All-American. He later garnered Missouri Valley All-Conference recognition before being drafted in the 18th round of the 2001 MLB draft by the Toronto Blue Jays. He played seven seasons of minor league baseball as a catcher and third baseman.
