Local Athletes Dodge Raindrops For Mid-Week Match-ups

Benilde-St. Margaret's and St. Louis Park sports teams battled the elements on Wednesday and Thursday.

Despite playing under the threat of rain on both Wednesday and Thursday, and sports teams were able to get in much of their mid-week schedules.

Benilde-St. Margaret's Boys Lacrosse: Red Knights Improve to 10-0

A 12-2 defeat of Totino-Grace on Wednesday combined with a 13-5 besting of Wayzata on Thursday improved the Benilde-St. Margaret's boys lacrosse team to 10-0 on the season.

Will Hoesley leads the Red Knights with 39 points, with Christian Horn chipping in 31 points. BSM is 3-0 in North Suburban Conference match-ups.

Benilde-St. Margaret's Girls Lacrosse: Minnehaha Academy 13, Red Knights 10

The Benilde-St. Margaret's girls lacrosse team lost 13-10 to Minnehaha Academy in south Minneapolis on Thursday night. 

Individual statistics from the game were not available. The Red Knights fell to 4-4 on the spring with the defeat.

Benilde-St. Margaret's Baseball: Red Knights 7, Edina 6

Greg Zeman drove in five runs to lead the Benilde-St. Margaret's baseball team to a 7-6 defeat of visiting Edina on Thursday night.

Red Knights relief pitcher Scott Quinby earned the victory after taking over for starter Marcus Barone, with Jimmy Heck earning the save.

BSM improved to 11-4 with the win and is 9-2 in the North Suburban.

Benilde-St. Margaret's Softball: Red Knights 9, North Branch 7

The Benilde-St. Margaret's softball team improved to 8-6 overall and 6-5 in conference play with a 9-7 win over visiting North Branch on Wednesday. Individual statistics were not available.

St. Louis Park Girls Lacrosse: Orioles Split Mid-Week Games

An 18-17 loss to Minneapolis on Wednesday followed by a 14-3 throttling of Irondale on Thursday gave the St. Louis Park girls lacrosse team a 6-3 record this spring.

Lauren Bruun-Bryant leads the Orioles with 19 goals, with Ellie Hoppmann recording 11 scores this season.

St. Louis Park Softball: Orioles Swept In Doubleheader

The St. Louis Park softball team suffered back-to-back 10-0 losses in a doubleheader at Spring Lake Park on Wednesday to fall to 2-10 overall and 2-8 in the North Suburban. Individual results were not available.

St. Louis Park Boys Tennis: Orioles 5, Cooper 2

The St. Louis Park boys tennis team defeated Robbinsdale Cooper, 5-2, on Wednesday. Individual results were not available.
