Former NHL star Jeremy Roenick joined Jack Jablonski on the ice Thursday at the to raise money for the hockey player who sustained a severe spinal cord injury last year.
A number of young skaters paid $75 to skate with Roenick, and funds raised will support Jablonski's ongoing care and recovery. Jablonski broke two vertebrae during a game last Decmeber. He has not walked since and is currently using a motorized wheelchair to get around.
The charity skate served as a kickoff to tonight's main event—a sold-out gala in Jack's honor at the Xcel Energy Center. A who's who of Minnesota hockey will attend, the Pioneer Press notes.
