Top sports concussion researcher speaks

Groundbreaking concussion research from Purdue University shows memory impairment for high school athletes who take hits to the head, but don't suffer concussions.  Minor blows - and there can be hundreds each game - are just as traumatic. The research shows that some players who are not diagnosed with a concussion are still suffering a different kind of brain injury. The ongoing reseach could lead to safety guidelines limiting the number of hits a player receives per week. If you are a sports fan / coach / parent of student athlete, this is pretty impressive stuff.  The Presenter and Researcher, Eric Nauman, PhD, associate professor of biomedical engineering and mechanical engineering at Purdue University will present his research and answer your questions.

At this free event, we will be accepting donations to our club scholarship fund which helps send local students to Purdue University.  More details at http://purduemn.eventbrite.com/
