BSM Hoopsters Split a Pair With DeLaSalle

The boys pulled out a 1-point win, but the girls fell.

Renewing a private school rivalry, and DeLaSalle split a pair of basketball games on Tuesday night in Minneapolis.

The BSM boys built a seven-point halftime lead and were able to hold on late, 60-59. Sanjay Lumpkin had 20 points for the Red Knights, while Isaiah Zierden added 17. BSM (No. 1 in Class 3A) improved to 18-1. DeLaSalle (No. 5) fell to 12-5.

The BSM girls were not as fortunate. The Red Knights (No. 3 in Class 3A) fell behind by 18 at halftime and could never climb out of the hole, falling 70-54. For BSM, it marked another tough loss to the Islanders (No. 2 in Class 3A), who last year.
