Late Rally Lifts BSM Football to Section Finals
The Red Knights score 22 unanswered points late, top Orono 36-32 in section semifinals.
The football team scored 22 unanswered fourth-quarter points to storm past Orono 36-32 in the Section 6AAAA semifinals on Saturday in St. Louis Park.
The Red Knights advanced to take on top-seeded Spring Lake Park on Friday for the section championship.
BSM (5-4) fell behind 32-14 and trailed by that margin heading into the fourth quarter, but that’s when the comeback began. In the fourth, Keaton Studsrud scored on a five-yard touchdown run to make it 32-21, and Javon Snelson scored from 30 yards out to cut the lead to 32-29.

Studsrud connected on a 26-yard touchdown pass to Isaiah Gray for the final score, giving the Red Knights a 36-32 advantage.
BSM now prepares to face North Suburban Conference rival Spring Lake Park. The Panthers (8-1) beat BSM 28-0 on Oct. 8 and have won six games in a row dating back to a 20-7 loss to Totino-Grace on Sept. 16.
