Benilde-St. Margaret's Daly Drafted By New Jersey Devils
The Red Knights' defenseman led BSM with 34 assists last season
Benilde-St. Margaret’s boys hockey standout Patrick Daly was selected on Saturday in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft in St. Paul.
Daly, who plans to play for the University of Wisconsin next season, was drafted in the seventh round by the New Jersey Devils. The 6-foot-0, 178-pound defenseman was taken 154th overall.
Daly was one of four Badgers selected in the draft. Current Badgers forward Michael Mersch, and incoming freshmen Joseph LaBate (Academy of Holy Angels) and Brad Navin were also selected in the draft.

Daly helped the Red Knights to a 21-4-0 record during the regular season. He had three goals and led the team with 34 assists.
BSM lost 6-3 to Wayzata in the Section 6AA semifinals to end the year.
