St. Louis Park Swears In New School Board

Newcomer Karen Waters and three current board members swore the oath of office at a Monday meeting.

Karen Waters, a newcomer to the St. Louis Park school board, took the oath of office Monday, along with three other board members who won campaigns in the November elections.

Jim Yarosh and Bruce Richardson were re-elected to four-year terms, and board member Ken Morrison was elected to a two-year term. Morrison is serving as treasurer in 2014.

Waters, a Brookside resident who has volunteered at three St. Louis Park elementaries, received the second highest number of votes among the five candidates for the board's four-year terms.

Nancy Gores is serving as the school board's chair in 2014, Julie Sweitzer as vice chair and Joe Tatalovich as clerk.
