St. Louis Park High School Ranked Among Nation's Best

The school came in 248th in the country, fifth in Minnesota.

has once again cracked Newsweek's list of top American high schools.

The high school was ranked 248th overall, out of 500 schools. It was one of nine Minnesota schools on the list, with Edina High School .

This continues a good run for St. Louis Park—in 2010, the high school was ranked the second-best public high school in Minnesota by Newsweek. District spokeswoman Sara Thompson said the school has been somewhere on the list for at least the past five years.

Newsweek revamped its methodology this year, scoring each school according to six components: graduation rate, college matriculation rate, AP tests taken per graduate, average SAT/ACT scores, average AP/IB/AICE scores and AP courses offered.

Other Minnesota schools to rank in the top 500 include: Edina (76), Mahtomedi High School (158), Lakeville North High School (178), Century High School (210), Andover High School (364), Apple Valley High School (451) and Simley High School (478).
